Hollister Parents as Teachers
Hollister Parents as Teachers is a free early childhood parent education and family support program serving families in the Hollister R-V School District throughout pregnancy until their child enters kindergarten. We offer personal visits during which a certified parent educator will share age-appropriate child development and parenting information, help you learn to observe your child, and address your parenting concerns. We offer yearly screenings to assess your child's language, intellectual, fine and gross motor, and social/emotional development as well as health, hearing, and vision. We have quarterly family group connections which are parent/child activity times and opportunities to share information about parenting issues and child development in a supportive and fun atmosphere. We have a lending library from which you may borrow children's and parenting books on a wide variety of topics. We hold weekly playgroups providing children an opportunity for gross motor activities in a social setting and we have a resource network that links your family to other community services.
All children will learn, grow, and develop to realize their full potential.
To provide the information, support, and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life.
