HOLLISTER SCHOOL DISTRICT’S NIGHT OF THE TIGER
Night of the Tiger was designed to help ensure that all Hollister students have everything they need in order to have a GREAT first day of school while giving families a fun place to gather, meet their teachers, and grow stronger as a community. Night of the Tiger consists of an Open House, Family Fair, and Taste of Hollister.
The 9th Annual Night of the Tiger is on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.
There are many opportunities to get involved and all donations are tax-deductible. The last day to sign up is July 28. After you have completed the signup form, please, email your logo to nightofthetiger@hollisterschools.com.
Taste of Hollister provides a sampling of dishes from area restaurants for students and families. Due to Taste of Hollister's popularity, we are expanding event locations to include Hollister High School and Hollister Elementary School. Each participant will be assigned to ONE location and will be provided 2 tables (one for prep and one for serving). Additionally, the Hollister School District will be providing the main meal. Each participant will bring a bite-sized sample of a food item for approximately 500 - 700 people.

Night of the Tiger is made possible through the generous donations of businesses and individuals in our community. You can donate monetarily or donate needed goods. Various sponsorship levels are available for monetary donations. This year’s needed goods include: bottled water, plates, napkins, and plasticware.
We love to offer services for students such as physicals & health exams, eye exams, dental checks, haircuts, nail painting, backpacks, college recruitment, family services, and much more. Many of our students are not able to get these services before the start of school, and Night of the Tiger is a great opportunity for the community to help support these students! The area community steps up big every year to provide needed services for Hollister students.
Night of the Tiger is a wonderful community event for our Hollister families. We need many volunteers to make this event a positive experience for students and their families. Volunteers are needed to help with various items throughout Taste of Hollister and the Family Fair as well as with set up before the event and clean up after. There are many different volunteer opportunities areas across the event.
OPEN HOUSE
Open House will take place between 5:00 and 7:00 PM. During Open House, parents and students have the opportunity to meet teachers, visit classrooms, get class schedules, take care of transportation and Tiger Academy needs, and seek the answers to any questions they may have.
Families with multiple students and/or buildings are encouraged to start their visits at 5:00 to allow ample time to complete visits before attending Taste of Hollister and the Family Fair. Tickets for Taste of Hollister will be given to families by teachers during Open House. You MUST have a ticket to attend Taste of Hollister.
TASTE OF HOLLISTER
Taste of Hollister will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. There will be TWO locations for Taste of Hollister this year. Families may visit either the elementary school or the high school to enjoy Taste of Hollister.
Take advantage of this opportunity to sample dishes from area restaurants and food providers and don’t forget to cast your vote for the 2023 “People’s Choice Award” winners. The winners will be announced at 7:15 PM.
Tickets for Taste of Hollister will be given to families by teachers during Open House. Families in the early childhood center and the elementary can obtain tickets from their classroom teacher. Families in the middle school and high school can obtain tickets from their advisory teacher. You MUST have a ticket to attend Taste of Hollister.
FAMILY FAIR
This year’s Family Fair will be located throughout the campus. Sponsors will be located at Taste of Hollister in the elementary and high school buildings. Age/grade level-specific services (i.e. college recruitment) will be located in appropriate buildings. This part of the Family Fair is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.
All other services will be located in the FEMA Gym and Tiger Alley. Activities and entertainment will be located at Tiger Stadium. This part of the Family Fair is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
The Family Fair provides opportunities to families for a variety of services including immunizations, physicals, haircuts, college recruitment, and much more. There will also be fun games and activities, bounce houses, and entertainment.
The Hollister R-V School District will once again provide school supplies for all students in kindergarten through 8th grades. School supplies will be waiting for students in their classrooms on the first day of school.
Any student needing a backpack will be provided one. Backpacks will be available in each building during Open House or through the building counselor.
