The Hollister R-V School District is committed to open, honest, and ongoing communication with our school community. We understand that maintaining a two-way conversation is essential for building relationships.
These relations are the foundation of a strong school system. The district desires to foster strong relationships with district stakeholders.
Statistics consistently show that schools are among the safest places to be due to the strong commitment of educators, families, and our community to our students and schools. We strive to be proactive rather than reactive. In the event of an emergency situation, the Hollister R-V School District has developed a guide that outlines the key elements of our state of preparedness. We hope it will answer questions you have concerning our actions and intentions in the event of an emergency.

PARENTSQUARE & STUDENTSQUARE
The Hollister R-V School District uses ParentSquare (and StudentSquare) as our main communication platform. ParentSquare is a two-way communication tool that provides a safe way for school employees to communicate with parents and students (high school and middle school) in one place. ParentSquare is a unified platform for all communication, more parent/guardian involvement, robust engagement features, an app for mobile users, and two-way language translations.
ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.
StudentSquare automatically generates an account for each middle and high school student, using their school email address and mobile number (if the mobile number is in Infinite Campus). We encourage students to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

Parents can update their language preferences within their ParentSquare account. This feature extends to outgoing messages as well, translating communications sent by parents to staff members, which fosters a more inclusive and connected school community. To learn how to set your language preference, please refer to the available resources and guides provided here by ParentSquare.

StudentSquare offers similar features to ParentSquare but it is designed for student use. Students in grades 6-12 have access to StudentSquare. StudentSquare is an innovative tool designed to enhance school-to-home communication for our students.
Instant Notifications: Immediate updates on school events, activities, and important announcements.
Enhanced Engagement: A direct connection to school resources and calendars.
Seamless communication: A streamlined way to stay informed and feel more connected to our school community.
Notification Filters: Students can customize which notifications they’d like to receive, ensuring they only get information relevant to them.
The district has access to all communication in StudentSquare between students and school personnel.
Instructions to Download and Sign In (6-12th grade students only):
Search for StudentSquare on your student's device app store and download it.
Open the app and select the option to sign in using Google.
Use your child's school-issued Google credentials to sign in using the Google Sign-in option.
Parents/Guardian: If you wish to know what information your child is receiving, please complete the steps above on your device. You are able to have both the ParentSquare app and the StudentSquare app on your phone as a parent.
On the StudentSquare app, you will need to use your child's school Google sign-in information.
Check with your student for their Google school username and password. If you have multiple children, you will be required to sign out from one account and sign in to the other accounts to check all accounts.
StudentSquare is optional. We strive to improve communication between school and home in a manner that is both safe and secure.
