The Flash Flood Watch continues for * Portions of southeast Kansas and Missouri, including the following areas, in southeast Kansas, Bourbon, Cherokee, and Crawford. In Missouri, Barry, Barton, Cedar, Christian, Dade, Greene, Jasper, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton, Polk, Stone, Taney, and Vernon. * Through Tuesday evening * Heavy rainfall rates will be possible this afternoon through Tuesday across southeast Kansas and portions of southwestern Missouri. Total rainfall amounts of two to four inches are expected during this period with locally higher amounts possible. This rainfall will fall on already saturated soils, increasing the potential for flash flooding. * Low lying areas and areas near rivers, creeks and streams will likely become flooded at times.
