In partnership with the Branson-Hollister Rotary Club and the Arvest Foundation, the Hollister Schools Foundation has enriched the learning environment at Hollister Elementary School by donating a book vending machine, funded by a generous $6,500.00 contribution.

During the machine's dedication ceremony, Denise Olmstead, Treasurer of the Hollister Schools Foundation, shared her enthusiasm for the project. "This unique idea to promote reading has been an exciting project for all involved," she said, "and what we hope is just the first building to receive a book vending machine."

Mr. Mark Waugh, Principal of Hollister Elementary, joined in celebrating this innovative approach to encourage reading. Highlighting the joyous occasion, second grader Scarlett Cole from Mrs. Gehman's class had the honor of being the first to use the machine. After a ceremonial ribbon cutting, Scarlett exchanged a token—earned through positive behavior—for her chosen book.

The Hollister Schools Foundation helped pay down student meal debt. Foundation board chair, Meranda Trinkle, and treasurer, Denise Olmstead, presented Hollister R-V School District Superintendent, Dr. Brian Wilson, and Assistant Superintendent of Operations, Dr. Sean Woods, with a check for $1250 to help pay down student meal debt.

The money originated from a donation made to the foundation for the use of paying student meal debt by the Masonic Home of Missouri.

Dr. Wilson expressed gratitude to the Hollister Schools Foundation and the Masonic Home of Missouri for their generous donation of $1500. "This kind gesture contributes to paying down student meal debt during a season when families struggle a bit more to make ends meet," he said. "We are appreciative of the ongoing support of the Foundation and the Masonic Home. This donation is just one example of our strong community ties in Hollister and the dedication of everyone to the welfare of our students."

The Hollister Schools Foundation presented a check for $1,000 to the Hollister High School and Middle School Esports program.

Earlier this school year, the foundation held its Inaugural Esports Tournament to raise money to help support the foundation's mission of breaking down the barriers to learning for students through partnerships and programs that serve the needs of the whole child.

Hollister Schools Foundation Chair, Meranda Trinkle, shared that the board voted unanimously to donate a portion of the proceeds to the Esports program. "The coaches and students were very accommodating and an integral part of making our inaugural tournament a success. We are excited to be able to contribute to helping meet some of the needs for such a great program that appeals to a wide range of students, including those who might not typically participate in traditional sports. Esports provides an inclusive environment where students of various backgrounds and abilities can come together and compete on a level playing field."
